'I'm with the person I'm supposed to be with': Ryan Gosling makes rare comment about Eva Mendes while saying he's 'excited' for Christmas with Esmeralda

Ryan Gosling's daughter Esmeralda was just a few months old for her first Christmas last year.

And the actor says he and Eva Mendes are looking forward to seeing their 14-month-old daughter Esmeralda enjoy the holiday season now that she's a little bit older.  'This will be our first Christmas where (Esmeralda is) sort of taking it all in, so that’s exciting,' the star told Hello! Canada.

He also talked a bit about his partner. 'I know that I’m with the person I’m supposed to be with,' he said. And when asked what he looks for in a woman, the Drive star replied: 'That she’s Eva Mendes. There’s nothing else I’m looking for.'

Ryan, 35, and Eva, 41, welcomed their daughter in September, so she was just a few months old when they had their first Christmas together.

The famous couple, who have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye, began dating after meeting on the set of their drama Place Beyond The Pines in 2011.

And the Canadian heartthrob appears to have taken to fatherhood, telling Hello! that 'it's not rocket science.'

While his home life is going well, the actor had more trouble keep a straight face as he hosted comedy sketch show SNL on Saturday.

The Crazy Stupid Love star dissolved into fits of giggles during some of the skits.

During one sketch, the actor covered his face and cracked up while listening to Kate McKinnon's character talk about peeing into a cup after being abducted by aliens.

Ryan also he lost it when faced with Aidy Bryant as an over-sexed 13-year-old hitting on a pal's 'hot dad.'

The actor struggled to keep it together as she sucked frosting off his fingers. 

Ryan will next be seen in his new movie The Big Short, which also stars Steve Carell and is about the financial insiders who predicted the 2008 financial crisis.

He also costars with Russell Crowe as a pair of incompetent detectives in upcoming comedy The Nice Guys.
