Thwor and peace: Chris Hemsworth flashes a friendly V-sign to baying fans as he arrives at TV studio to promote new film In The Heart of the Sea

He's got scores of adoring fans the world over. 

So it's little surprise actor Chris Hemsworth was mobbed by staunch followers of the Australian star as he arrived at the ABC studios on Monday.

The 32-year-old star looked every inch the leading man as he made his way inside the building in New York, greeting fans by flashing a peace sign.

The Australian star put his style credentials on show wearing fitted dark jeans, a grey T-shirt and a blue blazer.

He added a touch of glamour with aviator sunglasses and wore his trademark blond locks slicked back.

Chris finished his look with some brown suede shoes and sported some understated jewellery on one arm.

The Australian star was more than happy to greet fans who had awaited his arrival, stopping to chat and sign autographs for more than one admirer before making his way inside. 

Chris was among celebrity guests on Live Kelly & Michael, appearing on the show to promote his forthcoming film In The Heart of the Sea. 

The film, which tells the story of the real life events which inspired Moby Dick, is due to be released later this month.

Chris was forced to drop a significant amount of weight for the role in which he plays a ship captain whose crew finds itself being tormented by a whale. 

After his appearance on the show on Monday the actor stepped out for a casual stroll, swapping his smart blazer for a more relaxed jacket. 

Swapping his grey t-shirt for a white one, the actor looked in high spirits as he walked around the city's Mid Town area.
