Taylor Swift performs special acoustic rendition of 'Mine' at Brisbane concert in honour of Australian fan tragically killed in a car accident

And this was certainly the case when Taylor Swift performed her Brisbane show on Saturday night as a part of her 1989 World Tour.
Taking to the stage at Suncorp stadium, the 25-year-old performed a special rendition of old hit Mine in honour of a young Australian fan Rachel who was tragically killed in a car accident.

The blonde singer decided to pull back the instrumental layers on the 2010 track, delivering a sweet acoustic version of the song with her own guitar in hand.
Fans took to social media to applaud the singing sensation for her touching onstage tribute, thanking her for having noticed a special message recently shared by Rachel's friends asking her to dedicate the song to their deceased pal.
'"Mine" had touched Rachel in a profound way. She felt that it was the story of her life, but it was cut short before she could fulfil the rest of the song,' read the message.

Explaining that Rachel and her mother had tragically been killed in a car accident, her friends told Taylor that the Grammy award-winner's songs had helped them get through tough times since her death.
'Your songs brought us closer as a group, and are the backbone of our friendship,' continued the message.
'She would be honoured if "Mine" was played at your concert in Brisbane on the 5th December 2015, because after all she is the best thing that's ever been ours,' read the conclusion, its final phrase based on the chorus of the song itself.

After Taylor responded by singing Mine on stage, she was inundated with Tweets from fans.
'OMG THAT WAS INTENSE #MineForRachel SO BEAUTIFUL! I was crying at what Taylor did for Rachel! (sic)' one fan wrote on the social media platform.
'Rachel, i hope you're smiling as you look down from heaven knowing that Tay sang Mine especially for you. #MineForRachel #1989TourBrisbane (sic),' another penned.
Throughout the night the American superstar once again put on a flawless display for 50,000 screaming fans in the Queensland city.

She also showed off some dance moves of her own as she shimmied and swayed with her male group of dancers.
The Shake It Off hitmaker also performed on Queensland's luxurious Hamilton Island on Thursday night as part of an exclusive Nova Red Room gig.
