A 12-year-old girl with cystic fibrosis who credited Taylor Swift for adding years to her life is now on cloud nine after the US pop star arranged to meet her.

Ella Sinclair started singing Swift's songs when she was six years old and the vocal exercises helped repair her damaged lungs following severe bacterial infections due to the cystic fibrosis.

Following an intense social media campaign last week calling for Ella to be able to meet her, Swift arranged for her to fly to Adelaide on Monday to see her ahead of her concert.

'I was just so wonder-struck because she's my idol – it was amazing,' Ella told Daily Mail Australia.

'She (Taylor) was so awesome and kind when I met her and seemed like such a lovely person. She thanked me for coming to see her and then told me I was an inspiration.'

'I told her, you are an inspiration to me.'

Ella was then able to take a photo with Taylor and she squeezed in a hug before she had to leave.

'For the rest of my life I'll be happy. This was my absolute dream come true.

'Singing Taylor Swift songs every day has helped strengthen my lungs, which has kept me healthy. I love her so much, she's such an inspiration.'

The 12-year-old from Queensland's Sunshine Coast was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at birth and has had several stints in hospital battling severe bacterial lung infections.

She endures three hours of physiotherapy each day before and after school and has to take a number of drugs and supplements just to keep her damaged lungs functioning.

Ella started singing lessons when she was six years old after hearing Taylor Swift for the first time and her mother, Rosalie Dillon-Sinclair, credits it for helping to keep her healthy.

'She started studying singing after hearing Taylor and she just loved it. She's always on our coffee table singing Taylor's songs. It's very noisy at our place,' Ms Dillon-Sinclair told Daily Mail Australia.

'Vocal exercises has strengthened her breathing and lungs. Singing combined with physical activity has definitely increased her life expectancy. Some people don't make it through their teens.

'Anything where she is exercising her lungs is good because it helps keep the airways clear of the mucus. When the mucus is down there that's when the bacteria flourish and she can get really sick.'

Ms Dillon-Sinclair said her daughter was so motivated by the American pop star that Ella did not even realise how good singing was for her health.

Ella and her mother had bought tickets for Swift's Brisbane concert last Saturday and had hoped to meet the pop star then.

Her mother sent a number of letters to concert promoters but did not receive a response.

Cystic Fibrosis Queensland got involved and were using the hashtag #ellameetstaylor in a bid to catch Swift's attention.

Her story attracted nationwide media attention but unfortunately the concert came and went without a word from Taylor Swift's team.

But hours after the Brisbane show, a call came through from Swift's management in the US.

There had been a complication and they had missed getting Ella to meet Swift in Brisbane so they asked if they could fly her to Adelaide instead.

'It has been so overwhelming,' Ms Dillon-Sinclair said. 'It was quite a shock.'

'Ella's is such a wonderful kid, and her determination and of those around her has helped to raise so much awareness about cystic fibrosis.'

'Ella is an absolute star, a delight to be around and immensely talented. We recognised this, and we're pleased to say so has Taylor Swift.'
