Professional concerns were put to one side on Friday afternoon as Shanina Shaik spent some quality time with pet pooch Choppa.

The model took her beloved French bulldog for a stroll close to Miami beach during her appearance at the Floridian city's Convention Centre - where she was attending the three day Art Basel event with boyfriend DJ Ruckus. 

Dressing casually, Shanina, 24, opted for a black leather skirt featuring a partially unzipped split in the front that adequately displayed her model legs.

The Australian matched her thigh-high item with a fitted singlet top that showed off her slender frame and ample cleavage through its plunging neckline. 

Shanina appeared to be in a low key mood as she strolled with service dog Choppa and opted to go make-up free - a look that was highlighted by the decision to tie her hair away from her face. 

The model regularly takes to social media to gush about her dog and has even set up an Instagram account for her canine companion.

Shanina, who graced the Victoria's Secret runway show in 2011, 2012 and 2014, announced in November that she will be returning for 2015.

Taking to social media to share the exciting hews she wrote: 'I'm so incredibly happy & honored to announce that I have been chosen to walk in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2015.'

Shanina was the fifth Australian stunner to appear for the luxe lingerie line when she first made her appearance at age 20.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia in August this year, Shanina said she was definitely keen on returning to the runway for Victoria's Secret once more.

'I hope so yeah. The show's coming up again this year so it's going to be super exciting and all the girls will be trying out for the show coming October.'
