Kerry Washington swayed the spotlight her way in sexy style as she attended the 38th Annual Kennedy Center Honors Gala in Washington, D.C. on Sunday.
The Scandal star, 38, proved that title right in her strapless black Marchesa gown that featured blue feather details around the bust and fit snugly to the hips before flaring out into a decadently long train.

Pointy black-veined grey lace heels and a cute boxy black clutch made up the rest of Kerry's ensemble.
Kerry, who was joined at the event by her husband Nnamdi Asomugh, broke away from his side for a few minutes to take that red carpet by storm.
Her hair was gleaming under the lights as it swept across her forehead and spilled to her bare shoulders in a cluster of curls.

Kerry's make-up featured vivid blue eye shadow and neutral gloss on lips, while blue sapphire studs sparkled at her ears.
Her husband of two-and-a-half years - and former NFL player - looked suave next to Kerry in a black tuxedo and bow tie.
The couple, who share a 20-month-old daughter named Isabelle, wed in a hush-hush June 24 ceremony in Hailey, Idaho after dating a year, E! News reported at the time.

Nabbing the role of crisis management expert Olivia Pope in the ABC drama Scandal has been life-altering as well.
'One of the most profound things for me about [Scandal] is the number of white women of all ages who come up to me and say "I want to be Olivia Pope,"' Kerry told Vanity Fair's August issue.
'It's especially profound in a place like South Africa. It's called The Fixer over there, and it just started its second season.

The ex of Blake Shelton added sparkling drop earrings and a tidy-looking grey clutch.
Rosie Perez looked elegant in a strapless trumpet gown made of black material with a gorgeous pattern of white flowers.

Jane The Virgin star Gina Rodriguez showed off plenty of cleavage in a black gown decorated with a double network of red flowers while Viola Davis delighted in her black top and red and fuchsia skirt.
The event served to honor those who 'represent the voices, soundtracks, and stories of our personal lives and memories,' Kennedy Center Chairman David M. Rubenstein said in a release posted to www.kennedy-center.org.
Along with actress Cicely Tyson, the honorees included singer-songwriter Carole King, filmmaker George Lucas, actress and singer Rita Moreno and conductor Seiji Ozawa.
The gala airs on CBS on December 29.
