Her five-time platinum selling album 1989 proved to be a huge success, alongside her major hit, Blank Space.

Four of the categories were announced on a live stream on the Grammy's website by 15-time winner, Alicia Keys, who revealed that Taylor had won three out of the Big Four categories. The only one she was not mentioned in was Best New Artist.

'I felt like I was blasted into the television set and I prayed that I wouldn't trip up.'
Singer Adele was not mentioned in the nominations as the awards' eligibility period — from October 1 2014, to September 30 of 2015 — disqualifies current hits like Adele's 25 from awards being considered.
Whereas the rule worked out well for Taylor, whose album 1989 came out in October 2014.
