'I had sex with two women': The Affair star Joshua Jackson reveals awkward post-work conversations with partner Diane Kruger

He has been dating current love Diane Kruger for just shy of 10 years.

But The Affair star Joshua Jackson admitted his new job has led to some awkward moments at home when he has to reveal how many women he had on-camera sex on any given day.

The 37-year-old made the saucy admission as he chatted with the US's premiere daytime chat show doyen on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

He said: 'I go home and I'm like, "babe, I had a great day today. I had sex with two different women and I felt like it went really well."'

And he said the blonde former model prefers him to look less than at his best during his steamy moments

He said: 'I think she’s a little conflicted on that. She’s ok if I look a little schlubby... Keep the good stuff at home.'

And when Ellen suggested she may actually prefer him to put in heroic performance between the sheets on-screen to make everyone jealous, he replied: 'I’ll ask her when I go home.'

Joshua plays wronged husband Cole Lockhart in the show, and whose wife Alison has been getting jiggy with Dominic West's Noah Solloway since season one.

And the actor said it was not as easy as it looked getting paid to take part in sex scenes with beautiful women.

He said: 'No it's not. It's just not. (You're) emotionally naked, physically naked, all sorts of naked.'

'It's one thing for the guys, its awkward certainly. But for women, it puts women in a particularly vulnerable space, so there's all of that stuff that goes into those scenes that you have to work through.'

And the Dawson's Creek heartthrob also explained the sort of awkward conversations he has with his female co-stars on the show.

He said: 'Here's just the weirdness of a job, a profession where you're like, "hi, my name is Josh, we're going to get naked and then we're going to have sex and then we're going to talk about how it feels afterwards.

'"Is that cool? Alright, great let's go." I mean, that's what I do for a living.'

While accountants and labourers across the globe are no doubt feeling his pain, at least the Fringe favourite can comfort himself with the fact he is worth an estimated $8 million and is dating one of the world's most desirable women.

His full interview is airing on the popular NBC show on Tuesday, and will also see him talk about his love of Christmas in Germany, and his fondness for lederhosen.
