Driver added, :'You would think someone who has accomplished so much in his life and career would be less excited - maybe that’s kind of like a bad idea going into it that I had.'

Adam continued: 'Still excited about the process and to be doing it and playing that character was really also moving for me.'

He also talked about Carrie Fisher, who plays Leia: 'She's very generous and very funny and puts everyone at ease immediately.'

On Chewbacca, Adam revealed: 'Surprisingly emotional. There's Chewbacca hug breaks and I hate hugging. I don't like hugging anybody but something about seeing him there.'

The Girls actor added: 'The costume they had to repair a lot because it kept disintegrating with everyone hugging Chewbacca. Surprisingly emotional seeing someone that huge and that furry.'

On who is worse, Darth Vader or Kylo Ren: 'It’s hard to say. One is very more realized than I think the other...Kylo Ren is definitely a fan. I’d say he likes his work. Some people make wrong decisions in life.'

The star also talked about what it was like shooting Stars Wars and Girls at the same time.

‘It was good because I tend to overthink things so I didn’t have any room to think, because you’re shooting one week and then flying and shooting Girls the next week.'

Adam has worked on the HBO show since 2012 as the character, Adam Sackler.

Host Lara Spencer joked if he ever got confused during shooting and accidently brought a light saber to the set of Girls, to which he playfully added: 'Show up naked on Star Wars. Why is everyone else iron clad?'

Adam also confirmed that Girls is coming to an end: 'One more season yeah and then I think it’s done.'

Adding: ''If they wanted to keep doing them I would keep doing them. I love working with that group of people--the crew and the cast.'

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to be released on December 18, 2015.
