He was just one of several country stars to receive the iconic Artist Of The Year prize.

But there was no sign of award winner Blake Shelton's new girlfriend, Gwen Stefani.

The 39-year-old country star embraced RaeLynn and his The Voice protégée, Cassadee Pope, after receiving his statue at the CMT Artists Of The Year Awards in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday.

Gwen appeared to be in Los Angeles, as she had Instagrammed a snap of Burton on Melrose Avenue that day, suggesting she was still in the city.

The country star did not hold back his praise for his supporters when he received the prize from his friend, Trace Adkins.

Trace even jokingly referenced his romance with Gwen as he introduced Blake.

Blake was clearly moved when he received the award.

After marvelling over the fact that he finally received the award, Blake said: 'First of all, thank you to CMT for including me on this. So cool. I don't even know, like, I don't have anything prepared.

'Let me just say that I want to thank my label and thank my entire team. There's too many people to stand up here and name, but more importantly, I want to say that this has been a crazy year, from the way it started to how it's ending so awesome for me.

'So thank y'all. This is a great way to end it for me. Thank you so much.'

These past few months have indeed been big for Blake personally and professionally.

This past year has seen the star nominated for several awards, including Collaborative Video of the Year for his song Lonely Tonight with Ashley Monroe.

Blake also announced his divorce from his wife of four years, Miranda Lambert, in July this year.

But just a few months later, he was linked with his The Voice co-judge, Gwen Stefani.

The couple confirmed their romance earlier in November and seem to be going from strength-to-strength, with Gwen frequently photographed FaceTiming Blake.

Blake was just one of several stars honoured with the Artist Of The Year award that night.
