It's a case of puppy love! Sarah Hyland and boyfriend Dominic Sherwood hold hands as they take rescue dog out for walk

They were first romantically linked just under a year.

But Sarah Hyland and her boyfriend Dominic Sherwood had a case of puppy love on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old actress and her beau, also 25, looked the picture of bliss as they walked Boo, the playful canine they rescued together, through The Grove in Los Angeles.

Sarah had a wide smile on her face as she held her other half's hand, looking California cool in loose ripped jeans and a cream sweater. 

The Modern Family actress had a black leather jacket slung over her shoulder, Converse sneakers, and a large pair of sunglasses.

She swept her shoulder-length brunette hair across her forehead and slicked on a strawberry red slick of lipstick on for added colour.

Sarah had a pep in her step as she strolled through the lively shopping centre beside her sharply dressed companion.

Dominic donned a white V-neck shirt, jeans, and a brown fedora.

The actor was unable to stop smiling as he walked their beloved canine, at one point scooping the little pup into his muscular arms.

Sarah announced on Instagram in October that she and Dominic rescued Boo together.

'This weekend @domsherwood and I rescued a little baby puppy. Now Barkley can have a sister to annoy the crap out of him Meet Boo!,' she captioned the image of herself with Dominic, Boo, and Barkley.

Sarah and Dominic were first linked as a couple in January, and it's clear their relationship is going from strength-to-strength.

The actress had high praise for him when she discovered he landed a role in Shadowhunters back in April, according to E! News.  

'He's amazing. He's an amazing person,' she told the website. 'We became such good friends on Vampire Academy. I'm so happy for him. It's an amazing thing.'

Up next, the actress is lending her voice to the animated series, The Lion Guard along with Rob Lowe and James Earl Jones.

The series follows Simba's son Kion as he leads the lion guard to protect their land.
