They are known as the rough family on the block.

So it was no surprise Emmy Rossum was pictured filming her wedding day as Shameless character Fiona in a plaid shirt and a veil on Wednesday.

The brunette who was on set in LA, teamed her bridal wear with a pair of jeans and black pumps.

However she did manage to jazz it up a bit with a pair of glittering earrings. 

For those fans of the show who felt she should have had something a bit more dressy for her big day, luckily the star was seen in an all white ensemble on set a few weeks ago.

Emmy, 29, who got engaged herself  just over four months ago,  donned the lacy, white number.

The Golden Globe nominee looked ever the picture perfect bride in the classic and elegant wedding day attire.

Emmy wore the sleeveless bridal wear which included sheer trim and v-neckline, drawing attention up to her flawless complexion.

Her silky, brunette locks coiled in loose tendrils past her shoulders and was pinned back beneath a long, white veil.

At one point, she seemed to be in deep thought, no doubt imaging the delight of her own picturesque occasion.

The New York native and director, Sam Esmail announced their engagement in August after dating for two years.

Emmy said on Live! With Kelly And Michael that Sam is 'a bit of a nerd,' adding: 'He doesn’t know chivalry too well, so we have to bust his chops a little bit.'

'And tell him every time a woman stood up and went to the restroom, he had to stand up,' she continued.

This is set to be the second marriage for the Hollywood beauty, who married Justin Siegel in 2008 before divorcing two years later.

When asked by Cosmopolitan magazine whether she would ever remarry, Rossum replied, 'I hope I do. Honestly, I was so young. I don't think I knew what marriage meant.'

Shameless premiered in 2011 and is due to return for its sixth season in January.
