'It's Iron Man!' John Boyega on how Robert Downey Jr called to share 'life-changing' advice to help him prepare for Star Wars mania
He has experienced first hand the life changing experience of starring in a smash hit movie franchise.
And John Boyega admitted he was so stunned he had to pull his car over when Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr called him to share advice while he was driving around his native London.
The Star Wars: The Force Awakens hunk was so gobsmacked he turned the air blue when the movie icon made the surprise call to give him a pep talk on how to deal with the coming pandemonium.

'Oh c***': John Boyega admits he turned the air blue when Robert Downey Jr called him to offer advice on dealing with stardom
The 23-year-old said he was zooming around in his motor when an unknown number called his phone, and when he answered the called identified himself only as 'Robert.'
When he demanded to know who it was and the caller said, 'um, Robert Downey Jr,' he admitted 'I'm like, "oh crap! Iron Man! I had better park up."'
John connected with Robert after he sent a begging letter to his agent said, 'Hi, I'm John. I'm going to be in Star Wars. If he has time, can Robert Downey Jr. mentor me?"
To the young actor's complete surprise he responded, with the fact they are were at the time represented by the same talent agency surely a helping factor.

Ironing out the flaws: According to John the reformed wildman offered him 'life-changing' advice
The beefcake claims he was too afraid to ask actual Star Wars cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill about their own expectations as he did not want to be unprofessional.
John said: 'They're my co-stars and we were in a working environment. It's not a place for teaching and all that.'
No doubt it will also prove to have been a wise networking move from the handsome young Peckham native, whose parents hail from Nigeria, as he said he ended up connecting on a deep level with the A-lister.
They spent two hours chatting on the phone during their initial contact, and have since even starting going on man-dates together.

No doubt now the envy of all his Cockney friends, John admitted: 'Good lord we get deep. For the most part it's definitely private, but in general, his thing has always been inner peace and how to deal with this on a mental level.
Taking care of your mental health is something that he talks to me about. He's really changed my life with his advice.'
According to jolly John, they have developed a friendship that's since resulted in more hours-long chats, hang-outs, and even a chicken and waffles date.

The self-styled thespian also opened up about how he dealt with the fact when he was first unveiled in Force Awakens trailers #blackstormtrooper started trending on Twitter.
He said: 'I'm a strong individual. That's what I've learned in this process. The Star Wars fans, their reputation can't be ruined by a few individuals.
'Let's just leave them on their island and go and enjoy a 'Star Wars' movie.'

He is also relishing having the chance to put Robert's advice to work when the film comes out, and plans to be in New York on Dec. 18 when it finally hits theaters so he can mingle with the proles and get their reactions.
The English star said: 'I will be everywhere, and I don't mean on the posters. I want to see exactly how people are feeling. I'm going to go out with a bunch of go-pro cameras.
'I may even queue up for certain films and just ask fans questions with a mask over my head. Do my damn thing.'

This isn't the first time Robert has reached out to help the next generation of stars.
The new Spider-Man Tom Holland, who is just 19-years-old has revealed that the star gave him help when he joined the cast of Captain America: Civil War.
'Robert did my first screen test and he was so welcoming,' said Tom. 'He took me aside and gave me a little advice about the audition'.
