It's likely that everyone within earshot of Lady Gaga knew she scored her very first Golden Globe nomination on Thursday morning.

'I apologize to my neighbors I'm still screaming in my apt in NY!' the 29-year-old pop diva tweeted to her 53M followers. 'I'm nominated as an actress for a Golden Globe what a dream is this real!'

Later on, she released a formal statement to EW: 'I am too excited for words at this recognition for my work! I dreamed endlessly of being in television & film. This is a real honor for a waitress/singer/actress from New York!'

The six-time Grammy winner received the nod for her role as the blood-lusting hotelier The Countess in FX's American Horror Story: Hotel.

Gaga - born Stefani Germanotta - will compete in the Best Actress in a Limited-Series or TV Movie category against Sarah Hay, Felicity Huffman, Queen Latifah, and Kirsten Dunst.

It's an impressive feat for Mother Monster, whose only prior roles were Bertha in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For last year,and La Camaleón in Machete Kills in 2013. 

Ryan Murphy's campy-horror series also earned a nomination for Best TV Movie or Limited-Series, competing against American Crime, Fargo, Flesh and Bone, and Wolf Hall.
