They both made their name on teen dramas.

But when playing New York society girl Serena Van Der Woodsen was a twinkle in young Blake Lively's eye, the actress was already mixing with some teen drama royalty.

The Gossip Girl star shared a throwback photo as a young girl posing with Jason Priestley, who played Brandon Walsh on the hit nineties show, Beverly Hills, 90210.

The 28-year-old, shared the picture to her Instagram on Thursday.

The actress captioned the picture: '#tbt to when Serena Van Der Woodsen and Brandon Walsh were a thing. (Shh don't tell @robynlively).'

Blake's older sister, actress Robyn Lively, who rose to fame in the 1989 film, Teen Witch, dated Jason in the early 1990's.

It was Blake Lively's time to shine on the red carpet when she stepped out to promote her new film 'The Age of Adaline'.

Blake opted for an unusual number for the appearance in New York City though, selecting a Monique L'Hullier dress from the fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection.

While the deep scarlet hue suited the actress perfectly, we weren't so convinced on the dress' fussy design...lace and leather and ruffles? It was a little overboard for us.

But that doesn't mean to say we aren't fans of the designer who turns out some stunning pieces, but this dress was just a little behind the times - Blake should've gone for something more current. Monique L'Hullier has some fab pieces for this season available at Neiman Marcus - right.

The blonde beauty starred in the CW hit series, set in the Upper East Side of New York City, for six seasons, from 2007 until its series finale in 2012.

The Savages actress, who was only three years old when Jason's show premiered on TV, wore a jean jacket and sported shorter locks in the throwback snap.

Jason, who rose to heartthrob status in the nineties, grinned widely in the snap, as the young Blake threw her arms around him.

Last weekend, the star spent some quality time with Taylor Swift during a visit to Australia.

The Age of Adaline actress and the singer, who was in the midst of her 1989 tour, headed to Movie World theme park in Queensland, sharing photos of their adventures to Instagram.

Taylor instagrammed a snap with the movie star, captioning the picture: 'Yesterday was such an amazing day off--roller coasters, kangaroos and LOLs with @blakelively.'
