Summary[edit]

Description
English: Commemorative Stone donated by the Utah Territory, in September 1853, to be used in the construction of the Washington Monument. The stone was quarried in Manti, Utah and William Ward, a Mormon pioneer artist, carved the stone into a symbol representing the provisional State of Deseret. The stone is located in the interior of the monument, at the 220 foot level.
