Back to her elegant best! Queen Letizia pulls her locks in a chic chignon for gala dinner... just days after her curly hairstyle was ruined by blustery winds

  • Spain's Queen Letizia and King Felipe VI attended banquet in Madrid
  • Annual Journalism Awards dinner hosted by national newspaper, ABC
  • Completed look with Felipe Varela jumpsuit and Magrit black suede heels

Her usually polished look was ruined earlier this week when she got caught in blustery winds, but Spain's Queen Letizia has bounced back to her elegant best.

The 43-year-old royal dazzled in a black Felipe Varela jumpsuit as she stepped out with her husband King Felipe VI to attend the 'Mariano de Cavia', 'Luca de Tena' and 'Mingote' Journalism Awards banquet hosted by Spain's national newspaper, ABC last night.

Held at the publication's headquarters in Madrid, Letizia turned heads in the sophisticated evening attire. The wide-leg one-piece featured a cut-cut illusion halter neckline and was trimmed with small black Swarovski crystals.

Be bold in a black jumpsuit

One thing we absolutely love about Queen Letizia is that she's not afraid to do outfit repeats.

While most celebs wouldn't be caught dead wearing the same outfit twice, Queen Letizia pays no mind to the pseudo rules of glam life.

Although she wore her Felipe Varela black lasercut cut jumpsuit a few months back, she had no problem slipping into it once more.

We are loving the look but what we love even more is the Swarovski detailing on the jumpsuit.

Unfortunately, the jumpsuit is not available but you can click right to check out the collection.

The mother-of-two completed her show-stopping outfit with black beaded clutch by the Spanish designer - which she debuted in Paris last June - Magrit black suede peep-toe platform heels and De Grisogono diamond teardrop earrings.

Ensuring her hair didn't get ruined by the weather again, glamorous Letizia pulled her shiny brunette locks into a low chignon. Smoky eye make-up and nude-coloured lipstick completed the look.

Meanwhile, King Felipe VI looked handsome in a black tuxedo complete with a crisp white shirt and bow tie.

Earlier this week, Letizia, who is arguably one of the hardest working royals, stepped out in a scarlet coat to meet with the board of the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases (FEDER) in Madrid.

Her tousled, wavy hair became unruly thanks to the breezy day but she kept on smiling regardless as she walked to her royal engagement.

Despite the serious subject matter, she appeared light-hearted and smiled for photographers when her hair flew into her face.

The Queen has been involved with FEDER since January and it was a departure for the royal, who until then, had focused her efforts on championing Spanish culture and the plight of disabled people.

FEDER, the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases, was founded in 1999 and now acts as one powerful voice for over 20 individual organisations.

Letizia is known for her perennially chic appearance and once inside the meeting, she revealed a classic blouse in a modern monochrome print.

Letizia was low-key in carrying out her duties and happily walked down the street to her engagement, rather than arriving by car.

The hard-working royal clearly has no desire to let her standards slip, only last week appearing at two engagements in 24 hours.

Letizia was chic in a black and white striped split skirt, white blouse and tailored black blazer as she presented accolades at the Justice and Disability Forum awards in Madrid last Tuesday.

She was in high spirits as she took to the stage with forum members and honoured inspirational figures.

The royal had already put in an appearance at the Nutrigenomics Seminar at the CSIC Institute the day before.

And she must already be thinking about the Christmas season, as the family released their annual Christmas cards this week, with King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia letting their beautiful young daughters steal the festive limelight.

Princess Leonor, ten, and Princess Sofia, eight, feature in a warm embrace on the front of the card and even add their own handwritten signatures inside - perhaps a subtle reference that the girls are considered the future of the Spanish monarchy.

First-in-line-to-the-throne Leonor, who has blue eyes while her sister has brown, throws a protective arm around her sibling for the cute photo.
