The 29-year old singer and actress was handed a ring by a bearded gentleman as she stepped out with her fiance Taylor Kinney in the city.

The six-time Grammy winner rocked a flesh-flashing high split in the sheer and silk gown, which reached the ground despite her vertiginous platform shoes.

Her platinum locks were swept into an elegant up-do, and she added spiky black lashes to bronzed smokey eye make-up.

Then on Thursday morning, it was likely that everyone within earshot of the American Horror Story: Hotel actress knew she scored her very first Golden Globe nomination too.

Earning the proposal for her role as the Countess in the series, she tweeted: 'I apologize to my neighbors I'm still screaming in my apt in NY! I'm nominated as an actress for a Golden Globe what a dream is this real!'

She also added to her dream year when she accepted a bling engagement ring from Taylor Kinney back in February.

During her acceptance speech for Billboard's Woman Of The Year, the Marry The Night singer told the crowd: 'It's really hard sometimes for women in music. It's like a f*****g boys club that we just can't get into. Women provide a wisdom to music that is very unique and special.'

Gaga added: 'It is a perspective no one else can have because we bear life. And because we go through things no one else goes through. And because it's right. Because we're all equal.'

She also had a message for her doubters: 'I couldn't wait to prove you wrong.'
