She has tried to use the 'do you know who I am' approach before after getting into trouble with the law.

But Reese Witherspoon did not even get the chance to use her favourite line after getting a parking ticket while shopping in the trendy Venice area of Los Angeles on Friday.

The smirking Legally Blonde actress had the smile wiped off her face when she saw she had been left an unwelcome Christmas present after leaving her vehicle parked too long while she enjoyed a visit to a posh boutique.

Not so fine now: But she looked more than a little grumpy when she found a parking ticket affixed to her car

Self-styled down-to-earth southern girl Reese was looking mighty fine in a red woollen polo neck, bodywarmer, jeans and knee high boots as she went wild in the aisles.

And certainly seemed to have had a great time splashing the cash, for the pint-sized star wore a wide grin until her day was ruined when she found her vehicle had been ticketed.

Luckily for the actress she has plenty of cash to pay her fine, as she is worth an estimated net worth of $80 million.

Popular Reese has been making quite the comeback since 2013, when she ended up being arrested for disorderly conduct after her husband was stopped on suspicion of druink driving.

According to the Georgia Police incident report, the mother-of-three said at the time: 'Do you know my name? You’re about to find out who I am…you’re about to be on national news.'

Stop hanger-ing around: She did not seem to have a care in the world as she went on her shopping spree
