'Looking good every day is difficult!' Woman 'becomes' Khloe Kardashian for an entire week, copying everything from her fitness and beauty regimens to her sultry selfies

  • Brie Schwartz, a New York-based editor for Redbookmag.com, followed Khloe's lifestyle for seven days in celebration of her Redbook cover
  • The 31-year-old writer used Khloe's new book, Strong Looks Better Naked, as a guide on how to live like the reality star

For many fans of the Kardashian family, Khloe is thought to be the most relatable, and the most 'real' - but according to one woman she is just as hard to keep up as her sisters, particularly when it comes to fitness and beauty.

Brie Schwartz, a 31-year-old New York-based editor for Redbookmag.com, was inspired to live like the youngest Kardashian sister for one week, following Khloe's diet, fitness, and beauty regimen for seven days in celebration of the 31-year-old reality star's December/January cover of Redbook.

'I grabbed a copy of her freshly released book, Strong Looks Better Naked, fired up a request for a waist trainer and boob tape, and committed to living the next seven days with passion and intention, just like Khloe,' Brie wrote.

However, she quickly realized that living like Khloe is no easy feat, especially when it comes to her dedication to fitness.

According to Brie, Khloe wakes up every morning at 5am with a 'hardcore body blasting' workout. However, she admitted that she opted to set her alarm for 7am and 'snooze for 32 minutes' before getting up and going to the gym.

'I spent the first eight minutes of my waking hours shoving every last inch of my back bacon into my newly acquired Amia waist trainer (the one Khlo swears by/is probably paid to endorse),' she explained.

Brie noted that she was surprised to learn that wearing a waist trainer while working out wasn't 'quite the hell' she thought it would be - besides for that fact that she had a hard time bending over to pick up dumb bells.

At the end of her 30-minute workout, Brie said she couldn't help but weigh herself because of how much she was sweating. However, she was left disappointed by what she saw.

'Feeling defeated by the number glaring back at me, my mind turned to a passage in Khloé's book: "You're training for life. Stop looking at the numbers on the scale. This is about health, not numbers. And stop being in such a rush. There is no elevator to success; you have to take the stairs,"' she wrote.

And not surprisingly, Khloe, who lost 35lbs this year, is a fan of eating healthy, starting her morning with black coffee before having a glass of water, oatmeal, and a protein shake for breakfast.

Brie explained that she opted to skip the oatmeal and have a boiled egg instead, but she had to 'try not to gag as [her]Khlo-kolored lipstick rubs off on the white'.

The editor also sampled Lyfe Tea, a detox tea, which she noted 'all of the Kardashians heavily hawk' and had an apple with peanut butter as a snack.

'It feels like a cheat because lunch is just two hours away, but whatevs, if Khlo can drop 35 pounds this way, I'm game [sic],' she said.

Brie had Khloe's beloved Chinese chicken salad for lunch and later in the afternoon she snacked on vegetables and hummus, although she admitted to buying the 'cheap stuff' at the grocery store instead of mashing up chickpeas on her own.

'Dinner at 7[pm] is steamed veggies and salmon,' she noted. 'Kind of a snore, but I spend the rest of the eve feeling smug about eating lean.'

While she decided to skip Khloe's evening snack of Greek yogurt and fruit, she had a 'Kris Jenner Kocktail', which she explained is really just a vodka soda.

And while Brie was able to adapt to Khloe's healthy lifestyle, she knew she was 'clueless' when it came to expert make-up application, so she had to 'recruit an army of pros'.

The writer started by having airbrush tanning specialist Kristyn Pradas come to her studio to give her the Kardashians' 'Armenian glow' before having Brittany Whitfield from the order on-demand beauty service Glamsquad 'kountour the krap out' of her.

Brie noted that she was worried she would like her new look so much that she would become addicted with it, but at the end of the process she said she knew it would be her 'last attempt at face lacquer'.

'Of course the face mask makes sense for Khlo who has unforgiving lights and a camera pointed at her 12 hours a day, but it's not for a commoner,' she added.

Meanwhile, Brie donned a with from Sherri Shepherd's collection for Luxhair Now in order to transform her brunette tresses into Khloe's newly blonde hair, but she soon realized that she 'caramel-hues' and 'extensions' are things that she can pull off.

'Feeling new levels of insecure as I approached my building's lobby, my doorman, who didn't recognize me beneath the gunk, gave my husband some serious side eye,' she recalled. 'Good to know that if my hubby ever took home an escort, Mo would have my back.'

And while Brie said she has always respected Khoe for embracing 'body con' clothing, she prefers to wear loose, boxy pieces. In order to pull off a plunging, cleavage baring black jumpsuit, she enlisted her husband to help her 'affix two layers of boob tape', but despite the effort she still felt 'saggy and exposed'

'I really wished I could just step inside her excessively organized closet and steal whatever crazy glue she uses to keep her décolletage in place,' she explained.

While feeling insecure she decided to embrace Khloe's frankness and ask her husband if she looked as terrible as she thought she did.

Although her husband admitted that she had 'seen better days', she chose to ignore his comments and carry one with her challenge.

The next day Brie applied a set of 'coffin-style' press on nails to prepare for the Kardashian-inspired selfies she planned on taking. However, she ended up ripping them off soon after because they were making her cranky.

When it was time to start taking her selfies, Brie said she immediately started to feel bad about herself.

'Suddenly wrapped up in a hideous feedback loop of narcissism and insecurity, while trying to capture an image that made me look half as good as I do when I'm grinning in a group of friends, I was reminded that Kimmy K once said it takes 1,200 selfies to take a decent one, and she has them professionally edited, no less,' she noted.

Walking in another woman's shoes: Brie said Khloe lives with 'real integrity' and during her seven days of trying to be like her, she learned about her 'core values'

'This makes me feel simultaneously better, and worse. The time it takes to snap 1,200 wannabe sultry selfies would be better spent doing literally anything else.'

At the end of the selfie photoshoot, Brie said she only took one picture that she actually liked - and a roll of toilet paper is in the background.

In addition to following Khloe's beauty and fitness routine, Brie headed the reality stars advised and did some journaling while exercising, something Khloe does every day.

And while Brie said she learned from Khloe's 'core values' and the way she 'lives with real integrity', she is certain that she does not want to spend her life trying to imitate the reality star - or garner any of the attention that comes along with fame.

'Having to look good every day is difficult,' she explained. 'Not to mention my disdain for figure-flattering garments.

'And while I value Khloé for allowing her life to be on display for my personal entertainment, I couldn't even handle the attention of putting a wig on at work. Ultimately, her story is not meant for me.'
