She was reportedly spotted 'canoodling' with Hollywood actor Russell Crowe at an Ed Sheeran concert in Sydney earlier this week.

And one of Julie Burgess' recent social media posts adds fuel to the fire, with the mother of sportsman Sam Burgess pictured with Russell's son Charles during the same show at Allianz Stadium on Wednesday.

In a snap shared on 54-year-old Julie's Twitter account, Julie is seen enjoying the concert with the 12-year-old, as well as her own sons Luke, Sam and his fiancée Phoebe Hooke,

Retweeting the photo from Sam's social media account, Julie wrote on her Twitter timeline: 'Brilliant show!RT @SamBurgess8: What an awesome night @edsheeran 's Sydney concert last night. What an absolute hero'.

Meanwhile the Daily Telegraph reports that Julie and Russell were seen coming together for an 'embrace and more” at the Allianz Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Russell, who separated from wife-of-nine years Danielle Spencer in 2012, was spotted at the concert, however he and Julie were not snapped together at the event.

Russell and Julie certainly have plenty in common given all four of her sons have played at his South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The actor and rugby club owner appeared to enjoy the concert and posted: 'Loved @edsheeran in the rain,' adding, :Thunder, lightning, torrential downpour and Sydney was rocking!!'

Given that all four of her sons Sam, George, Tom and Luke, have all at one time or another, played for Russell's club and Julie has known Russell for a long time.

Julie, 54, has even posted pictures of herself and the New Zealand-born star at Sydney South games.

Russell and his wife of nine-years Danielle separated in 2012. The couple have two sons together Charles, 12 and Tennyson, nine.

Julie and Russell first met in 2009 when the actor took time out from filming Robin Hood to court Julie's son Sam to try and persuade him to join South Sydney.

The Yorkshire school teacher, followed her sons out to Australia in 2012, Her late husband Mark, the father of the four boys sadly passed away from Motor Neuron Disease when Sam was just a teenager.
