A night after barely beating the Boston Celtics in double overtime, the weary NBA champions had just 95 points in the loss as they succumbed in the final game of a seven-game road trip.

Golden State's winning streak, the longest to start a season in NBA history, was the third longest in a single season behind the Los Angeles Lakers, who won 33 in a row in 1971-72.

The Bucks also stopped the Lakers' winning steak in 1972.

The normally sharp-shooting Warriors struggled offensively, shooting barely 40 per cent from the floor, with guards Stephen Curry (10-for-21 for 28 points) and Klay Thompson (4-for-14 for 12 points) struggling to find their range.

Center Greg Monroe led the Bucks with 28 points while guard OJ Mayo chipped in 18 and forward Giannis Antetokounmpo added 11 as part of an impressive triple-double.

Milwaukee improved to 10-15 with the win and Golden State fell to 24-1.

Golden State, which averages 13 3-pointers a night, was just six of 26 from behind the arc.

The Warriors trailed by double digits for much of the night and drew within a point a couple times.

Giddy Bucks fans at the packed Bradley Center erupted with cheers after the final buzzer.
