The stars were out in force for Michael Bublé's annual Christmas In Hollywood special on Thursday night.

But Céline Dion stole the show as she took to the stage in an elegant white gown, performing a moving rendition of traditional carols O Holy Night and Happy Xmas (War is Over) and reducing the studio audience to tears.

The 47-year-old star's performance was all the more emotional since the singer is preparing to spend her last Christmas with her music manager husband Rene Angelil, 73, who is battling throat cancer.

Céline looked incredible in her dramatic evening gown, featuring sparkling silver detailing on the shoulder and a draped neckline.

The Canadian singer upped the glamour with dark, plum-hued make-up and styled her dark blonde hair in loose waves.

She was later joined by show host Bublé for a duet, changing into a tuxedo with jewelled embroidery on the shoulders and the sleeves.

The pair put on a stellar performance, going hand-in-hand as they belted out the festive classic.

'This is very likely the last Christmas they'll celebrate with Rene,' said a friend. 'Céline is trying to make the most of whatever time they have left with Rene.'

Together the couple have three kids - Rene-Charles, 14, and twins Nelson and Eddy, aged five.

'Céline is hopeful by nature,' said the insider. 'She puts her trust in her faith.'

Dion is on break from her Las Vegas show at Caesars Palace until December 30 so she can have family time. She has a run until 2019.

Also entertaining viewers with musical interludes were Sharon Jones & the Dap King and Tori Kelly, while the likes oy Gigi Hadid, Kylie Jenner, and Jay Leno all make cameo appearances in the one-hour show.
