She's done it again! Adele's '25' breaks another record in the UK album charts as it stops Coldplay debuting at number one for the first time EVER

It is the band's first album to fail to debut at number one.

But whilst it must have come as a blow to the Chris Martin-fronted band, they did manage to break a personal record, with their strongest opening week since 2008's Viva La Vida.

A Head Full Of Dreams racked up a whopping 236,000 sales in the week, but the figures paled in comparison to Adele's, who maintained a third week in the top spot by shifting 354,000 albums.

The album's continued success means the 27-year-old has broken yet another record, generating the highest selling figures for a number one album in its third week in the top spot.

According to Nielson music it is the first album to sell more than five million copies in a calendar year since her previous album, 21, was released in 2011.

It is now the 11th album released since 2005 to sell five million copies.
