So it's perhaps unsurprising that Pixie Geldof should cut a fashionable figure as she stepped out in central LA on Saturday.

The 25 year-old stepped back in time for her latest look, which included a shamelessly seventies-inspired ensemble.

The young socialite, who is the daughter of Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates, looked carefree as she emerged from the Chateau Marmont with some friends.

Wearing a pair of flared jeans with a striped top she had clearly opted for a bygone fashion era as she parted in West Hollywood.

Accessorising with a pair of tan boots and a cropped haircut, she was certainly enjoying some down-time.

Showing off her body art as she paraded through the streets with her pals, the brunette appeared to be relaxed and happy as she enjoyed her California break.

Adding a tie-dye handbag to the mix, she was joined by two male pals who ensured she was in good company.

The socialite rocked a fairly unkempt hairdo with her make-up kept as equally low-key - only a light layer of foundation offering coverage with not a lip stain or eyeliner flick in sight.

Pixie - who's earned herself quite the reputation for her audacity to experiment with fashion - also briefly raised a smile.

Perhaps Pixie was in town to get inspirations for her own fashion line, which she has called Funky Offish.

According to her, the clothing range is more than a brand - it's a lifestyle derived from the words 'funky' and the abbreviation of official, 'offish', coined on their cult Instagram account.

Best friends with fashionista Alexa Chung, Pixie has confessed that her fashion line is inspired by a number of major players - including Karl Lagerfeld and Victoria Beckham.

'Karl Lagerfeld is a funkyoffish icon,' the young women enthuse on their site.

'He runs Chanel, THE most funkyoffish brand. Karl's responsible for a multitude of funkyoffish items such as the Chanel brick bag, the Chanel bike, and my personal fave, Chanel trainers!'
