'Beyond worth the wait': Country singer David Nail and wife Catherine welcome twins after long struggle with infertility

They have openly talked of their struggle to conceive.

Now country singer David Nail, 36, and his wife Catherine, 31, have welcomed a son and daughter.

'No words can describe the feeling,' the couple told E! News in a statement after the birth on Saturday.

'Beyond worth the wait. We are crazy in love with them both.'

The fraternal boy and girl twins were born one minute apart in the early morning hours.

The happy couple, who have been married since 2009, welcomed son Lawson Brent first while his sister Lillian Catherine arrived right after.

Nail and his wife confirmed the pregnancy to People at the 2015 CMA Awards last month.

'We struggled with infertility for years and really just had to stick together to get through it,' Catherine said.

After making their official announcement at the annual presentation ceremony, the Grammy nominee took to his Instagram to share his joy.

'We are beyond excited to finally be sharing this news with you all. We are extremely blessed and I am so thankful for my "Fighter."

On Wednesday and Thursday, the Night's on Fire crooner could hardly contain himself in anticipation of finally meeting his newborns. 

'Wide awake at 1:11. This must be my body practicing for our upcoming guests,' he wrote on his Twitter account.

'This waiting around has got me going crazy!'
