'If you're going through hell, keep going': Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's husband Jean-Bernard posts series of cryptic quotes amid claims their marriage is in trouble

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's husband Jean-Bernard has broken his silence on claims that his marriage is in trouble.

Posting a series of cryptic quotes to his Instagram page, the French restaurateur has hit out about 'lies,' 'honesty' and 'going through hell' amid speculation that the couple face 'serious problems.'

A report in The Sun newspaper on Friday suggested Cheryl's tears during this weekend's live semi-finals were down to turmoil in her relationship after just 17 months as husband and wife.

'If you're going through hell, keep going,' Jean-Bernard's post read, after Cheryl's mysterious break down on the live show.

He also wrote: 'When writing the story of your life, don't let anyone else hold the pen,' as she stayed schtum on speculation about the strength of their bond.

While it's not clear who JB was directing his private-account messages at, a third post read: 'I'm sorry if you don't like my honesty but to be fair I don't like your lies.'

Cheryl is reportedly struggling to save her marriage to her second husband after a source revealed that she's 'not in a good place'.

Hinting at her heartache, the unlucky-in-love 32-year-old, who divorced cheating first husband Ashley Cole in 2010, broke down at Che Chesterman's haunting recital of the late Amy Winehouse hit, Love Is A Losing Game on Saturday night.

Sources told the newspaper's Dan Wootton: 'There are serious problems for Cheryl and JB. It's very sad and they're trying to make it work, but it could explain why she's clearly not in a good place.

The source added: 'A lot of us thought she might move towards taking some sort of break earlier this year but she decided to give the relationship another go and try to make it work.

'But there's a feeling she's been unlucky in love and doesn't tend to pick the right men. Let's hope this is not the most disastrous example of that.'

A representative for Cheryl refused to comment when contacted by MailOnline for comment on Friday.

Cheryl and JB, who married in July 2014, were last seen together in this October when they attended Ant and Dec's 40th birthday party as a couple.

Though he supported her at every live performance of The X Factor last year, he has been notably absent this year blaming business trips for leaving her solo.

Cheryl has maintained a sunny demeanor but her tears at last week's heart-wrenching love song seemed to serve as a subtle hint of her heartbreak.

The former Girls Aloud singer appeared to have found her happy-ever-after when she tied the knot with the French restaurateur in secret last summer after meeting in Cannes, France.

It came as a shock to most since Cheryl and JB had been dating for little more than three months when she revealed the news on Twitter.

He insisted that things were fine between the pair in November making a rare statement about the rumours when he said: 'Normally don’t read or comment... But the truth is that even when my dad died I put my life on the line for my wife.

'Yes I am working like everybody else to put food on the table but my priority is my wife as this is the last person that is family.

He added: 'This is just nonsense. What matters is family and my wife is my only one left so if she need me I am always going to be there. My wife Cheryl is my priority nothing else.'

Cheryl has been forced to defend her increasingly slender frame, something she previously blamed on the death of Jean-Bernard's father.

Still smiling, Cheryl's appearance of The X Factor this year has reflected her battle with the breakdown of her marriage to footballer Ashley.

Opening up about the divorce, Cheryl told InStyle in October: To be honest, I coped in public and crumbled in private.

'It’s funny – those who didn't understand my actions at the time have now had that happen to them and they get it,’ she explained.

Cheryl was repeatedly betrayed by her first husband, who she married in 2006, but decided to stand by him as the revelations hit headlines in 2008.

They finally divorced in 2010 but she maintained her married name until finally taking Jean-Bernard's double-barrel surname in November 2014.

The news of Cheryl's latest marriage breakdown comes just days after it was reported that Ashley was expecting his first child.

The 34-year-old sports star is said to be 'over the moon' about the impending new arrival with Italian girlfriend Sharon Canu and is especially delighted his first child will be a boy.

Insiders speculated earlier this month that a baby was the one thing that Cheryl wanted in life.

Envious of her bandmates Nadine Coyle and Kimberley Walsh, who now have children of their own, Cheryl's friends reportedly told Closer: 'She doesn’t blame Kimberley, but every time someone mentions Cheryl being without children, the heartache is more painful.

'It’s just that she’s wanted kids since she was married to her ex Ashley [Cole]. A baby is the one thing Cheryl wants in life.'

This weekend, Cheryl will lead finalists Reggie 'N Bollie to the X Factor final in the Groups category, hoping that she will take victory against fellow judges Simon Cowell, Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw.
