It's SPROGGLEBOX! Move over Steph and Dom... the kids have taken over the sofa for Gogglebox Christmas special and some very surprising verdicts

  • Ten sets of children will be giving their verdicts on this year's programmes
  • They all watched the same shows - from the Election coverage to Frozen
  • The Mail on Sunday has had an exclusive insight to some of their views...

Butter wouldn’t melt... they’re cute, cheeky and the most hilariously outspoken people on TV.

These are the stars of Gogglesprogs, a festive spin-off from Channel 4’s Gogglebox that will feature ten sets of children – aged between five and 12 – giving their verdict on some of 2015’s most popular programmes. And no one is safe from these pint-sized critics.

Mary Berry? ‘My Nan can bake better.’ David Cameron? ‘He’s a gremlin.’ The Queen? ‘Overrated.’

They all watched the same shows, including The Great British Bake Off, Growing Up Wild, the Election coverage and films Frozen and The Snowman – although some insist they’d rather watch The X Factor.

The MoS had an exclusive insight into their views. Politicians, presenters and programme makers, be very afraid...

  • Gogglesprogs is on Channel 4 at 8pm on December 25

'Cameron's a gremlin. He always gets it wrong'

‘David Cameron is a gremlin. He always makes the wrong decisions and thinks he has all the power in the world,’ says Toby, ten (above left), from Shropshire.

Toby, who prefers Paul Hollywood to ‘bossy’ Mary Berry, is watching the shows with best friend Sam, ten (centre), and Sam’s brother James, five (right).

Toby adds: ‘The Snowman is hard to watch because there are no words.

‘I wouldn’t mind being able to fly, though.’

'Simon Cowell is a real superhero'

Shuaib, eight, is watching the shows with her friend Janai, seven (left) in East London

‘He’s wise, he’s strong and he’s a bit of a superhero,’ says Janai, seven (above, right), from East London.

Is she admiring Batman? Spider-Man? No, in fact Janai is talking about The X Factor’s Simon Cowell. And Janai’s friend Shuaib, eight (left), is another X Factor fan, saying: ‘I didn’t like it, I loved it!’

Meanwhile, Shuaib is confident of who next year’s Bake Off winner will be: ‘My mum. She makes the best cakes. She’d win.’

'The Prime Minister should dress as Disney heroine Elsa'

Having politicians dressed up as characters from the Disney film Frozen would have livened up the Election coverage, says one little girl from Wales.

Molly, five (above left), who watches TV with brother William, eight (right), found the Election news boring and believes MPs should look to her favourite film.

‘I met David Cameron with my mum at the Welsh Show and I think he should have dressed up as Elsa. Nick Clegg would be Sven and I’m not sure about Ed Miliband. He has a big nose’.

Growing Up Wild made her cry: ‘I was really worried about what was going to happen to the elephants. William gave me a cuddle to make me feel better.’

And on The Great British Bake Off, this harsh little critic says of Mary Berry: ‘My Nan’s a better cook because she makes scones with jam and cream.’

'Let's ban eating fruit'

Brooke, who is seven, and sister Emma, ten (left), have watched Disney's Frozen 15 times

Watching the Election coverage inspired Brooke, seven (above right), to imagine passing her own laws as Prime Minister.

‘Absolutely no one would eat fruit and there’d be chocolate and sweets for everyone,’ she says.

Brooke and sister Emma, ten (left), have watched Frozen 15 times and long to have magical powers.

‘I’d want every power in the whole wide world, so I could fix things, like if it was raining and it froze, then I could unfreeze it,’ says Brooke.

And her Bake Off favourite? ‘Sue ... she’s actually a girl but she looks like a boy.’

Emma, who has Down’s syndrome, was not a great fan of The Snowman. In fact, she fell asleep half way through...

'Mary Berry? She's so SICK' (and that's cool)

‘Sick’ is probably not the sort of praise you would expect for Mary Berry. But that’s how a group of lads aged 11 and 12 (left) from Dartford, Kent, described the Bake Off host.

‘She’s sick, definitely YOLO,’ says Harry (far left). Interpretation: ‘She’s cool, you only live once.’

He explains: ‘She wears a Hermes belt. It’s good.’ And the Queen? ‘She’s overrated.’

 'X Factor's Lion King'

‘Simon’s like a lion because he’s the leader and makes decisions,’ says Jacob, ten (far left), of The X Factor. ‘Cheryl’s more like a cat because she’s really kind.’

The aspiring accountant from Yorkshire says he wanted to run away when told to watch Frozen.

‘It’s too girly and I don’t want to hear that song one more time,’ he says.

Friend Connor, also ten (left), isn’t an animal lover: ‘I like cute little monkeys, but my mummy hates anything that poos and puts fur on the floor, so I’m not allowed a pet. But we might get a tropical fish.’

'David Beckham has a twin living at No 10'

Stephanie and Christina, both eight, don't watch a lot of television because they are busy with other things

It’s not a comparison you’ll often hear. ‘David Cameron reminds me of David Beckham because they have the same hairstyle,’ says Stephanie (left), from Essex, who watches TV with friend Christina (right).

The two eight-year-olds from Essex don’t have much time for TV, as they like to play the piano and violin, ballet dance, sing and cook. But they like The X Factor.

‘Rita’s quite cool,’ says Stephanie. ‘Every week she has a new hairstyle and I love her dresses. Critics say she dresses like it’s Halloween every week but it’s not true. I like Cheryl’s Geordie accent and she’s nice and pretty too. I think she looks very clever.’

Stephanie adds: ‘Watching The Snowman was emotional. Christina cried and I had to hold my tears
