Tina Fey reveals Colin Quinn was the one who called her the 'c-word' when working on SNL together... which inspired a 30 Rock episode

One of the best known episodes of 30 Rock was based off a real-life awkward interaction where she was called a 'c-word.'

And Tina Fey has finally revealed who called her that terrible word.

The 45-year-old singer confessed that the culprit was fellow former Saturday Night Live star Colin Quinn in a new interview.

She was very apprehensive about saying who it was during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show on Monday as she explained: 'I think I was trying to help him with a show he was working on and I think his anxiety about the writing of the show spilled over.

'Because it was very random, I was like 'what' because he left me a message. And it was funny because when someone says something like that and you literally couldn't even guess why. Usually when someone calls you that you're like "I know what I did."'

Tina said that she and the 56-year-old comedian have since made up reconnected and things are going great between them thus she was apprehensive to even make the revelation.

She also said this came at a time when she was a head writer on SNL and even said 'I love him so much' before the big reveal.

Snag a shearling pull-on boot like Tina

Tina Fey was rockin' a pair of No. 6 boots on a dark and rainy winter Monday morning in New York city. Strangely warm weather in the city made it unnecessary for the writer and actress to pair her ensemble with a coat. Nevertheless, she opted for the shearling-lined boot to keep her tootsies warm.

We spotted Julianne Moore in No. 6 boots the other day and we love the casual, low-heeled style combined with suede on clog-like heels. Just perfect for walking in the city. Unlike Tina, however, we'd eschew business attire and wear ours with a pair of jeans, leggings or a swingy maxi dress. In other words, keep the whole look boho.

If you're dying to snag a pair of these boots, click right to head to the No. 6 Store.

Or, see below, because we've corralled some brown suede ankle boots (ranging from a posh splurge to a bargain) to carry you through to spring.

Howard joked that Colin has not been in any of Tina's projects since this altercation but the Mean Girls writer insisted that it wasn't because she hasn't tried.

She admitted: 'I asked Colin to be on 30 Rock like three times after that and he turned us down every time. Then I saw him on Girls and I was like "He's dead to me!"

'But we have since reconnected at the SNL 40th [Anniversary Show] actually and we're good.'

The awkward moment was memorable enough for Tina to write a 30 Rock episode about it which aired on the very first season of the award-winning sitcom.

The plot followed her character Liz Lemon, who is the head writer of a sitcom, as she is taken aback by writer JD Lutz (John Lutz) who calls her the offensive word.

Lemon then confides in Pete Hornberger (Scott Adsit) and Frank Rossitano (Judah Friedlander) as she contemplates firing him.

Tina can soon be seen in comedy Sisters with good friend and often collaborator, Amy Poehler,  which has been released in the UK with the US release following this Friday.
