Atmosphere

Web_Forcopypage_Atmosphere.jpg CIRES is an international hub of atmospheric science. From monitoring the ozone layer, to dissecting the intricacies of tropospheric dynamics, to determining drivers of urban air quality, the science being conducted throughout the institute covers each part of the atmosphere at molecular to global scales. CIRES atmospheric scientists have access to cutting edge laboratories and field equipment both on campus and at the NOAA Earth Systems Research Laboratory. This includes the CIRES Center for Atmospheric Chemistry, a state of the art facility designed specifically for testing aerosol dynamics, and NOAA aircraft that have been instrumental in urban air quality studies.
