'A wonderful surprise!' Teyana Taylor welcomes baby girl after NBA star fiance Iman Shumpert delivers their daughter in their bathroom

Teyana Taylor welcomed her daughter on Wednesday, with the help of NBA player fiance Iman Shumpert.

The Cleveland Cavaliers star sprang into action and delivered their baby girl in their bathroom after Teyana unexpectedly went into labor a month before her due date.

Their daughter was born just before 7am on Wednesday, and the basketball star tied off the baby's umbilical cord with a pair of headphones.

Songwriter Teyana shared a photo of their new baby girl, who they named Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr, with a sweet message on Instagram.

'On Dec 16th at 6:42am in our bathroom Junie decided she wanted to take her first breath into this world,' the actress wrote.

'She came out as a wonderful surprise to everyone! 

'Not knowing I was in labor until I felt her head...it took two ten count pushes with my fiancé playing Dr and she entered this world into his bare hands!'

The basketball star delivered their daughter as the 911 operator talked him through the steps.

He tied off the baby's umbilical cord with headphones just before paramedics arrived, Teyana said.

'Eyes full of tears and barely able to speak to the emergency operator @imanshumpert tied a pair of red headphones around the umbilical cord and the ambulance made there (sic) grand entrance 5 min later,' Teyana wrote.

'She opened her eyes right away, gazed into mine and never cried!

'He handed her to me wrapped in our bath towel and wiped her face for me to see what LOVE really is,' the proud new mom wrote.

'Our family is complete,' wrote the singer.

'Her blueprint will be unmatched. Welcome Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr. Mommy carried you. Daddy delivered you.'

The baby girl arrived one month before her January 16 due date.

The couple became engaged in November, when the former New York Knicks player got down on one knee and proposed at Teyana's royalty-themed baby shower.
