Louise Redknapp models the pyjama trend and reveals the secret is wearing high heels and make-up so no one will think you've just rolled out of bed

  • Pyjama dressing has moved from the catwalks to the high street
  • Here Louise and pal Emma Thatcher show you how to achieve the trend
  • The trick is wearing glamorous make-up and heels with the pyjamas

Who doesn’t love a new pair of PJs at Christmas? This year us girls at A Style Album will be taking to the streets in them too! Yep, pyjamas aren’t just for cosying up in the bedroom.

We’ve been inspired by recent street style images from fashion weeks around the globe, where we saw many a fashionista looking cool in silk pyjamas going about their day.

Go full on with a top-to-toe look by teaming matching silk top and bottoms together or mix and match for an easy to achieve look.

Sleepwear to daywear is a trend that’s big this season and perfect for this time of year when we’re all walking around like zombies anyway.

The look takes confidence to pull off but done right it’s a super chic option for the Christmas holidays.

You can also team a silk pyjama top with denim or plain trousers or opt to pair the silk bottoms with a knit.

Designers made wearing pyjamas outside cool with Michael Kors, Valentino, Rag & Bone all showed pyjamas at their recent shows.

For Restless Sleepers is a brand that has run with the pyjamas style. We’re massive fans of the elegant pyjamas worn as day-wear available to buy at Net a Porter. All of the pieces in the collection are designed to be seamlessly mixed and matched and worn with your everyday wardrobe.

There are plenty of options on the high street too. Check out Lou & Em’s Fashion & Lifestyle blog A Style Album for more options.

A Style Album’s top tips for nailing pyjama dressing? Team with a heel to avoid looking like you’ve just rolled out of bed… Same reason why you should brush your hair and create a cool make-up look, a dark smoky eye or a deep berry lip.

We opted for Wild About Beauty make-up products using Hannah lip balm for strong lips and Kajal eyeliner for sexy eyes to really finish the look off.

Silk works best to achieve a luxe evening look, go for a print or stripe to keep it super stylish. If the whole looks scares you wear a pyjama top with just about anything - a leather skirt, your favourite denim, or leather leggings.

If you enjoy being comfortable and stylish, this is the trend for you!
