She's the voice behind one of the most popular Christmas songs of recent decades.

So it's no surprise to see Mariah Carey is getting seriously excited about the festive holiday as she shopped up a storm in Aspen on Sunday.

After earlier spending the day larking around in the snow with her twins Moroccan and Monroe, she sneaked out for some late-night Christmas shopping while they were sleeping.

With the Colorado resort a rather cold -5 Celsius (23 degrees Fahrenheit), the 45-year-old was suitably dressed in jeans, Christian Dior snow boots and a festive red jacket.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Mariah was spotted out and about in Aspen with boyfriend James Packer after flying in from New York City.

The diva had been performing at Manhattan's Beacon Theatre last week.

Also in Aspen is her ex-husband Nick Cannon, who she has continued to spend holidays with for the sake of their twins. 

Mariah has spent every Christmas in Aspen for years and it is where she first met James exactly a year ago.

However, the couple only got together at the Los Angeles Hercules premiere in July.

Following Christmas in Colorado, Mariah is expected to join her new man in his native Australia to spend New Year's Eve.

The star will perform at the Crown Casino in Melbourne - which is part-owned by the billionaire businessman.

Mariah will perform for a relatively intimate crowd of 1,200 at the casino's Palladium Ballroom.

When the gig was announced, the singer enthused: 'I can’t wait to get back to Australia, I have so many of my friends and fans there and the country really means so much to me.

'To be heading over for New Year’s Eve with James and to be able to put on a performance at Crown, it is incredibly ­exciting. Australia really will be the place to celebrate in the new year and I am counting down the days.'
