Claudia Winkleman's trademark glossy locks are the envy of many women - so much so that they write to her asking for haircare tips.

The Strictly presenter has jokingly revealed that she used to hope for fan letters asking her on dates, but instead the missives she receives are always about her tresses and thick fringe.

'Every single letter I ever receive is about my hair,' she told Stella magazine. 'I thought I was going to get lots of boys offering to take me to Nando's or somewhere, but no, it's always, "What conditioner do you use?".'

In fact, the constant questions about her hair led Claudia to include a conditioner in her new line of beauty products she's developed for M&S.

'I called it The Answer because “What hair products do you use?” is genuinely the only question I’m ever asked,' she said.

'It works best if you comb through the hair while the conditioner is still on and then rinse. Your hair will look like glass.’

The mum-of-three says she can't remember what it was like to not have her distinctive heavy fringe, since asking for her hairdresser to cut it eight years ago.

The mum-of-three admitted that she's not very diligent about taking her make-up off and often just layer more on top of whatever is left on her face

And she joked that it's so weighty there are parrots and squirrels living under it.

Discussing her beauty routine, Claudia said she is all or nothing when it comes to fake tan.

'I always knew I wanted to look orange before I looked orange,' she said.

‘I think I was even more orange when I started. I didn’t have a fringe either, so had this massive forehead.’

But when she's not looking bronzed she prefers the other extreme of being 'incredibly pale'.

She's not one for the less is more approach when it comes to eye make-up, but Claudia perhaps went a bit too far with the smudged black eyeliner when she attended the GQ Awards earlier this year

She takes the same approach to eye make-up, either wearing lots of eyeliner 'like Captain Jack Sparrow' or none at all.

She even joked that liquid eye liner should be made illegal as it's 'too precise'.

‘I don’t like clean, neat make-up. I prefer to look as if I’ve slept in it,' she said.

'My motto? If all else fails, put more on.'

Kim Kardashian recently revealed that she sleeps in her make-up, and apparently Claudia is not too diligent when it comes to removing her slap at the end of the day either.

‘I’ve never knowingly taken off my make-up,' she said. 'The stuff you see on my face was first applied in the Nineties. I just stick more on top.

‘I’m sort of joking. If I do want to really scrub everything off I use Eve Lom cleanser, which is miraculous.'

But despite Claudia's love for make-up, when she isn’t working her beauty routine is minimal.

‘When I’m just with the kids I wear nothing. I might go nuts and use a lip salve but that’s pretty much it.’
