She's taking a short break from her busy schedule over the Christmas period.

But despite enjoying some downtime, Ruby Rose looked as glam as ever when she stepped out to lunch in Los Angeles on Monday.

Accompanied by an unidentified female friend, the 29-year-old Australian beauty looked effortlessly cool in a edgy streetwear as she headed into Katsuya Japanese restaurant on Hollywood Boulevard.

Sporting a pair of slashed black skinny jeans, the Orange Is The New Black star brought her raw look together with a plaid shirt, a biker jacket and a pair of Kenneth Cole zip-up sneakers.

She covered her eyes with a pair of bronzed over-sized aviator sunglasses while her skin tone was pristine and unblemished.

Meanwhile her female pal also went for a tough street look in a loose-fitting beige sweatshirt over black skinny jeans and lace-up military-style heeled boots.

This year has been big for the Melbourne-born beauty courtesy of her role as prison inmate Stella Carlin on the hit television series Orange Is The New Black.

Last week, it was announced that she was the fifth-most Googled person in the world, and took out top spot for the most Googled actress of 2015.

She is also set to feature in the upcoming Resident Evil: The Final Chapter film as the character of Abigail.

But despite her success Ruby's year hasn't been without its downsides, as she called off her 20-month engagement to Phoebe Dahl last week.

Making a statement regarding the breakup to Facebook, the starlet wrote that their relationship was still amicable: 'Phoebe remains very dear to my heart. I will forever treasure our time together. I'm a better person because of the time we shared.'
