Frankie Edgar has declared his intentions to take to the Octagon with Conor McGregor in his next bout to challenge for the UFC featherweight title.

Speaking on Twitter earlier this week where he was answering questions from fans, Edgar said: 'I'm done getting screwed over, my next fight will be Conor Mcgregor, there is nobody else I am going to fight.'

UFC president Dana White has stated previously that Edgar would be the next man to to step into the Octagon with McGregor to clash for the featherweight title.

But McGregor, following his victory over Jose Aldo earlier this month, has said he wants to step up a division to become a dual-weight UFC champion.

And his intentions have frustrated Edgar, who believes that McGregor is 'ducking him' and that he 'wouldn't be the same after he was done with him.' He then added he would: 'break Conor in the third and then finish him in the fourth.'

McGregor is expected now to confirm his decision over what weight division he will fight in after the festive season.

Edgard, 34, is currently the second ranked fighter in the featherweight division below champion McGregor and Aldo.

In a 26-bout career, the American has 21 wins, one draw and four defeats. Of those triumphs, seven have come by knockout and four by submission.

His most recent fight, earlier this month, resulted in a knockout victory over Chad Mendes, while his last defeat was at the hands of Aldo, who beat him at UFC 156 in February 2013.
