They can deny it, but it appears they supplied it...

Two Arizona residents who were trying to make a special drug delivery before Christmas didn't get to finish the job after their car illegally passed into another lane - and then one of them passed gas.

An Oklahoma deputy pulled over Walter Rawls and Chanele Pauley after he saw their car move into another lane without signalling and their behavior made him think they might be carrying drugs.

After Deputy Scotty Moree took Pauley, who was extremely nervous and passing gas, over to his car, his police dog Jack alerted to the trunk of the car, which contained wrapped Christmas gifts.

Moree's observations, Pauley's behavior and Jack's nose led the Rogers County deputy to search the gifts while the car was pulled over on the side of the Will Rogers Turnpike, NewsOn6 reported.

A search revealed the Christmas gifts held sealed bags containing a 'white, crystalline substance' that tested positive for methamphetamine.

After police pulled about 8.5 pounds of meth out of the car, Rawls, 43, and Pauley, 33, were taken to Rogers County Jail and booked on a complaint of trafficking in illegal drugs.

Had Pauley been able to keep her cool, they likely would have escaped with just a warning.

However, she could not.

Deputy Moree wrote in his report: 'Chanele was breathing very heavily and I could see the carotid artery in her neck.

'I observed Chanele to also be shaking.

'All these signs led me to believe Chanele was extremely nervous.

'These signs are not seen while speaking with the general motoring public.'
