Keira Knightley rocks her trusty tomboy look in a vintage-inspired biker jacket and jeans as she leaves matinee performance

Between her new commitments to motherhood and Broadway play Thérèse Raquin, Keira Knightley has developed something of a go-to style.

The British actress has rarely deviated from her trusty Breton top, biker jacket and rolled up jeans between performances, though she's mastered the look convincingly.

Now dedicated to an afternoon and evening performance, 30-year-old Keira stuck to her old faithfuls on Wednesday as she left a matinee show in a city-centric outfit.

She let her hair down loose after the show but covered it largely with a black, tomboy beanie hat that hung off the back of her head in a slouchy fashion.

The actress swathed her lithe shape in the oversized leather coat and revealed just a peep of her Parisian-inspired top underneath.

To cap it off, mum-of-one Keira plumped for comfort in her new favourite lace-up boots that were on show with her jeans rolled up at the ankles.

Give heels the boot for some sturdy lace ups like Keira

If there's one thing we admire about Keira Knightley's dress sense, it's her ability to look undeniably cool whether she's dressed down by day or dressed up for the red carpet.

Keira's latest look is no exception, as the actress stepped out in New York rocking her signature off duty look in a over sized aviator jacket, jeans and a pair of Dr Marten's cult hiking boots.

Now that winter is here we're looking for a far sturdier (and warmer) option on the footwear front, and they don't come more robust than a pair of classic DM's.

As proved by Keira, who's worn these boots more times than we can count, a pair of these bad boys will last you forever and just get better with age. They look great teamed with slouchy jeans like Keira, or use them to edge up pretty dresses.

Keira's schedule has doubled since she returned from a quiet Christmas with her husband James Righton and daughter Edie.

She returned just a day after the festivities, on Boxing Day, and has since been faced with two shows every day.

But Keira's reign on Broadway is due to come to an end soon as she will take her final bow on January 3, 2016 after three months on the job.

It's unclear whether she will return home to the UK with The Klaxons rocker James following her stint in NYC, as she's not been listed for any forthcoming movie projects.

Her presence at awards season has also been called into question thanks to her 2015 pregnancy, which saw her appear in just one film, Everest.

Early this year, Keira was busy representing for The Imitation Game, which was recognised heavily in the honours.
