The Kofi Annan Foundation supports former United Nations Secretary-General and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kofi Annan in applying his unique experience and inspirational leadership in three key areas, with a particular focus on Africa. Global leadership Kofi Annan's interventions on critical global issues aim to build awareness and promote constructive action. The Foundation provides the analytical, communication and co-ordination capacities needed to ensure that these objectives are achieved. Mediation and conflict resolution Kofi Annan's contribution to peace worldwide is delivered through mediation, political mentoring, advocacy, advice and other good offices. Through his engagement, Kofi Annan aims to strengthen local and international conflict resolution capabilities. The Foundation provides the analytical and logistical support to facilitate this in co-operation with relevant local, regional and international actors. Advocacy and partnerships Kofi Annan is actively involved with a number of other organisations whose activities advance the objectives to which he is committed. These include agricultural development to improve food security and incomes in Africa (through the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa), implementation of the UN Millennium Development Goals and delivery of global commitments to support Africa's advancement (through the Africa Progress Panel), emerging humanitarian challenges, such as the human face of climate change (through the Global Humanitarian Forum) and good governance (through the Prize Committee of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation).
