All dolled up! Demi Lovato takes plunge in tiny frock as she helps Fall Out Boy recreate toy theme from NSync's It's Gonna Be Me in new Irresistible video

Demi Lovato is all dolled up in a plunging candy cane dress as she plays a toy store employee in Fall Out Boy's latest music video, Irresistible.

The 23-year-old stars opposite the rock band and NSync pop singers Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick, in which she sings and watches unwanted Fall Out Boy dolls come to life.

In the video's YouTube caption, it is explained that Irresistible is a nod to NSync's It's Gonna Be Me music video, where the pop band played figurines who pined for the attention of a young woman shopper.

'What if in the NSYNC video for It’s Gonna Be Me there was an analog to the story?,' explains the video's caption. 'Where in the same store there was a dollar bin full of toys that no one really wanted that would band together like the misfit, offbrand little outsiders they were.

'Irresistible is the video for that story, it's about the toys no one ever wanted come to life.'

Interspersed between the music video's storyline, Demi sings and rocks out to the track alongside Fall Out Boy members Patrick Stump, 31, Pete Wentz, 36, Andy Hurley, 35, and Joe Trohman, 31, in a sexy black button-up shirt.

Demi starts off the video as a factory employee, moving NSync and Fall Out Boy dolls across an assembly line alongside Chris.

As boxes of the original NSync toys make their way across the conveyer belt, Demi expresses disgust while Chris grabs his own doll and plants a kiss on it.

However, once Fall Out Boy figurines roll across the belt, Demi grins with delight while Chris scowls at the toys.

The dolls are then packaged and delivered to a toy store, where Demi and Joey are now working.

As Joey unpacks and inspects the dolls, he grimaces at the boxes and tosses them into the bargain bin.

However, the Fall Out Boy dolls manage to break free from their packages and end up getting to know various other toys inside the shop.

Joey comes across the band playing together and is not impressed that they have come to life.

But Demi is far more intrigued.

Once she discovers the band playing, she is unable to hide her delight and beckons her co-worker to watch the toys play.

Now in full-life form, the band follows a disbelieving Demi through the aisles of the store.

Irresistible was directed by It's Gonna Be Me director Wayne Isham, and a version with hip hop group Migos is on the band's latest album, Make America Psycho Again.

Both Make America Psycho Again and Demi's latest album Confident dropped in October.

Demi's latest effort, which is her fifth studio album, has been received with positive reviews.

As she told Idolator: 'I've never been so sure of myself as an artist when it comes down to confidence.

'But not only personal things, but exactly what I want my sound to be and what I know I'm capable of and this album will give me the opportunity to show people what I can really do.'
