Lily James looks ladylike as ever in a delicate floral frock as she attends pre-Golden Globes bash in LA

She's been busy promoting new BBC drama War & Peace in Los Angeles.

But Lily James managed to find time in her jet-setting schedule to attend the glamorous W Magazine celebration of the 'Best Performances' Portfolio and The Golden Globes party, held at the Chateau Marmont in LA on Thursday night.

The 26-year-old beauty stayed true to her personal style, looking lovely as ever in a ladylike dress embroidered with giant colourful blooms.

Lily kept her look classic as ever, adding an oversized leather belt to cinch in the garment at the waist.

She dressed the gorgeous gown in with a pair of black peep-toe heels boasting a chunky ankle strap.

The Cinderela star ensured her look was fit for a princess by styling her hair in a loose updo, enhancing her features with natural make-up.

Look blooming beautiful in Lily's floral leather dress

She reigned supreme on our televisions this Christmas, starring in both Downton Abbey and War and Peace.

So it was only appropriate that the princess of period dramas chose to wear a dress by Alexander McQueen at W magazine's pre-Golden Globes party! When styled by Rebecca Corbin Murray with some ankle strap heels and a matching McQueen belt, Lily is definitely one of our nominees for best dressed on the night.

We love the multicolored stitched floral embroidery on this luxe leather dress. It hails from the Pre-SS16 collection, and if you're feeling particularly flush you can buy it now by clicking the link (right). The midi length and flared skirt are super flattering, plus Lily's swept-up hair highlights the intricate detail perfectly.

But if $6465 would push your budget a bit too far, recreate the look with the help of our edit below. This Reiss number is the ideal way to take a leaf out of Lily's book!

Lily clearly has a go-to style when it comes to red carpet appearances; in the last few months she has sported an array of black dresses embellished with pretty embroidery.

And aside from her doting boyfriend Matt Smith, her best accessory is always a slick of colourful lipstick and a tousled bun.

The British beauty was fresh from promoting War & Peace at The Langham Hotel in Pasadena, California.

The big budget adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's novel - which stars BAFTA award nominee James Norton and Dickensian actress Tuppence Middleton - has garnered rave reviews from most who tuned into its opening episode last Sunday evening.

But for many it was an exercise in lip-reading - as they were unable to make out what those playing its key roles were saying.

Some viewers took to Twitter to complain about the leading actors mumbling their way through key scenes, forcing them to watch with the subtitles on.
