Birthday girl Georgia May Jagger unearths video of her teenage self singing before posting sweet childhood photo... the same day mother Jerry Hall confirms engagement

There was plenty to celebrate in the Jagger household on Tuesday.

And although Georgia May Jagger's 24th birthday was somewhat overshadowed by the fact her mother Jerry Hall announced her engagement to media mogul Rupert Murdoch on the same day, she unearthed some treasured moments from her formative years to mark the occasion.

The supermodel treated her Instagram followers to a clip of her showcasing her vocal talents at the tender age of 17.

The fresh-faced teenager looked a vision of innocence and natural beauty as she crooned along to Mariah Carey's 1999 hit Heartbreaker in the back of a car.

The few-second clip was originally posted by her best friend Brett Grace as a birthday tribute and Georgia, 24, reposted it alongside a caption which read: 'When I was 17 thanks @brettgrace for being such a great friend to me.'

Additionally, she officially announced her coming of age in a previous post which saw her delve deep into her family-album archives to fetch an especially sweet childhood photo.

Georgia is aged around four years old in the picture which depicts her pre-superstardom hosting a tea party for one of her cuddly toys.

The birthday girl was evidently feeling thankful as she expressed her gratitude in the accompanying caption which read: 'My day of birth. Thanks everyone in my life for helping me along the way. Love to all you who support me. Love you to the moon and back.'

Georgia's celebrations were somewhat overshadowed by the fact her mother Jerry, 59, confirmed she is to marry News Corporation owner Rupert - who is 25 years her senior - on the same day via an announcement in The Times which is part of the media heavyweight.

The announcement read: 'Mr Rupert Murdoch, father of Prudence, Elisabeth, Lachlan, James, Grace and Chloe Murdoch, and Miss Jerry Hall, mother of Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel Jagger, are delighted to announce their engagement.'

A spokesperson for the Murdoch family added to MailOnline: 'They have loved these past months together, are thrilled to be getting married and excited about their future.'

They started dating in the late summer after being introduced by one of Murdoch's sisters and his niece in Australia.

The couple made their relationship public in October when they were seen for the first time together at the Rugby World Cup final at Twickenham in London.

Georgia - who is the second youngest of Jerry and Mick Jagger's children - is yet to acknowledge the news on social media.

Rupert, 84, has been married three times before - his latest marriage to Wendi Deng ending in 2013 - while former model Jerry has four children with rockstar Mick, 72, whom she was in a relationship with for 22 years.

The couple married in an unofficial private ceremony held in Bali, Indonesia, in 1990 but it was declared invalid nine years later.
