Residents of an upmarket West London community claim David and Victoria Beckham ruined their holidays on their tree-lined street by behaving like 'neighbors from hell',

The star couple's renovation has provoked a list of complaints regarding their £31.5million ($46m) mansion, which they've been renovating for more than two years.

Neighbors have complained of  mice and rats scurrying around neighboring properties, continuous 'drilling and digging' noise, dust blowing everywhere and hordes of infatuated fans flocking to the quiet residential area, which some fear will lead to road accidents.

And the local council recently banned the Beckhams from placing air-conditioning units in their garden.

The local residents' association have called the family an 'irritation' and said that building work is an 'unpleasant experience' for neighbors.

The Beckhams, through their spokesperson, have told Daily Mail Online: 'We are not aware of any complaints, the building work is done with complete sensitivity and respect of the neighbors on the street.'

One of the issues for neighbors is that the Beckhams have taken over three properties in the street. Daily Mail Online can exclusively reveal that the couple have secretly moved into a seven-bedroom property directly opposite the property they are altering

The couple bought the £31.5 million ($46m) mansion in one of London's most desirable areas in September 2013 and have been working on it ever since, much to the annoyance of some neighbors, who've now finally snapped.

One of the accusations is that they've taken over the street. Daily Mail Online can exclusively reveal that the Beckhams have moved into a seven-bedroom property directly opposite.

As with many of the houses on the street, the rental is very similar to the couple's own home under construction. Outside the rented house is their fleet of Range Rovers and Audis, and 40-year-old David's Land Rover Defender 4X4 is sat on the driveway,

They've also purchased the apartment behind their home, so that they can fully renovate the property and extend the garden. According to one neighbor, they've also rented a property just for their builders.

But it's the vermin issues and constant noise which are most annoying for neighbors.

One house assistant, who works for a wealthy neighbor, revealed to Daily Mail Online: 'I hear them every day, especially the drilling and hammering.

'They start at eight and finish at five, it's noise throughout the day, the mice and rats run this way, they're scared, when they hear the drilling, what do animals do? They go here, there, same with cats too.'

He then went onto say: 'I've caught more mice than I care to remember, they're running all over the place, I use these sticky pads, then throw them into a bucket and drown them.

They come into the drains, sewerage, they come into the alleyway. We would be drowning six to eight a day in the morning. Now we got the experts in, they don't go inside, they put something around them to deter the mice.'

The street is popular with diplomats and oil-rich Middle Eastern royals, so some people have been upset that the likes of the nouveau riche Beckhams are settling in the neighborhood.

Richard Branson at one time owned two houses on the street - one of which is now rented by the Beckhams, since its sale by Branson.

Now adoring fans - including, it is claimed, starry-eyed local police officers - are causing mayhem by decamping on the street. Some have even come as far as Norway just to stand and stare.

'When these [celebrities] arrived, it sort of upset some people. Richard Branson was over there, we had 18 to 22 months of digging and noise, now you've got them renting and living in there. They [the Beckhams] used to live in Hertfordshire, a country place, I don't know why they moved to this street, it doesn't make sense to me,' said the same house assistant.

The final plans for the Beckhams' new digs include seven bedrooms, a gym, a powder room, wine cellar, cinema room and beauty area with rooms for hairdressing, manicures and make-up, as well as separate rooms for 41-year-old Victoria's shoe collection

'Already we're getting fans here. We had a guy from Norway with his son just standing there and I said: "Can I ask why you're standing there?" and they said: "We've found David Beckham's address online." You've got to be joking to come all the way to look at David Beckham's house, why don't you look at someone decent rather than a tattooed ex-footballer?

'People always drive by, even the cops, their head turns one way, what do they expect to see? He's a footballer, move on, get a life. I see their heads turn, it's pathetic, there's better people to look to on the planet, that's just my opinion.'

The place is being renovated by Rose Uniacke, the interior designer wife of the Harry Potter 'super producer' David Heyman, who is supervising the $7 plus million refurbishment of the building.

The company describe themselves on their website as 'a residential refurbishment company specializing in the creation of bespoke homes and developments for the discerning client within central London'.

The final plans the floors for the property, which will include seven bedrooms, gym, powder room, wine cellar, cinema room and beauty area with spaces for hairdressing, manicures and make-up, as well as a separate room for 41-year-old Victoria's shoe collection

To placate neighbors, the Beckhams turned on the charm by sending out gift cards and posing for pictures.

But that didn't stop a neighbor from complaining to the borough council that the plans 'will affect the historic character of the Victorian house of the streets, my house included'.

She added: 'The council must identified [sic] our deep concerns about all adverse impacts on living conditions from noise, vibration, dirt, pollution and dust from construction and from associated traffic, in addition to concerns about impacts on drainage, on appearance and landscape, on structural stability, and on historic buildings.'

John Cowdry of the local residents' association told Daily Mail Online that there were issues with properties that are being developed over a long period of time, with dust being a particular problem, and said that it cannot be a 'pleasant experience' for neighbors.

He said: 'I am aware of other residents who have had building / development going on next to them (by developers) for over two years, which drove them to complete distraction, especially the dust.

'I myself lived through a neighbor's basement construction process, which endured for the entire time that I was in my previous home on Holland Park.

INSIDE THE BECKHAMS' NEW HOME

Lower ground floor: Study, boot room, playroom, cinema room, gym, hall, two toilets, two utility rooms, four service rooms and a boiler room

Ground floor: Study, kitchen, dining room, drawing room, powder room, two halls

First floor: Master bedroom, master bathroom, master suite, dressing room, beauty room and hall

Second floor: Three bedrooms, all ensuite, and hallway

Third floor: First and second guest room with large dressers, third guest room with ensuite bathroom, and hallway.

Rear garden: One patio area with large table and chairs plus three potted olive trees, two other more relaxed patio areas with three chairs, and various areas for plants and shrubbery. A wooden wendy house - or playhouse - is proposed, which would likely be for Harper, the couple's four-year-old daughter

'Living next to any construction project cannot be a pleasant experience for neighbors (especially directly adjoining neighbors, of course).

'Equally, however, property ownership is one of the cornerstones of our economy, and I don't believe that any property owner would want their property rights (or those of any other property owner) unduly restricted. Development and improvement rights must surely comprise some of those property rights.'

Cowdry then went onto praise the property developers working on the Beckham family's property, but said that it would be an 'irritation' for immediate neighbors.

He said: 'I frequently walk past the property and think that the contractors have over the period of the works to date, gone to considerable lengths to try to ameliorate the effects of their building works on the street.

'I would probably go so far as to say that those contractors have, since I have lived in this road, been the most considerate of operators. This of course does not in any way derogate from irritation that the noise and interruption that the immediate neighbors would unavoidably suffer whilst building works have been on-going.'

Resident and former chairperson of the community's residents' association Katy Michael added that the Beckhams were not the worst culprits in an area loaded with foreign millionaires looking at property as an investment, adding: 'My personal experience is that it is often the property developers who are the least caring and considerate of any adjacent neighbors of those properties which they refurbish, because they will not have to live alongside them.'

But Daily Mail Online can exclusively disclose that not all of the Beckhams' plans got through and the council blocked their bid to have air conditioning built in their rear garden to 'ensure that the character and appearance of the area are preserved'.

The Beckhams and their builders may intrude on neighbors, but they are a lot more strict on guests and visitors being allowed onto their new property. A security notice on their front door states: 'No mobile phones allowed anywhere on site. Any breach will lead to immediate removal from sight and may result in prosecution.'
