Charlie Sheen admitted the troubling news that his HIV numbers are 'up' on Tuesday's episode of The Dr. Oz Show.

The 50-year-old Golden Globe winner - who revealed his diagnosis in November - stopped taking his medication in order to try an experimental 'vaccine' in Mexico.

'I had been non-detectable, non-detectable and checking the blood every week and then found out the numbers are back up,' the Anger Management star told the 55-year-old cardiothoracic surgeon.

'I didn't see it as Russian roulette. I didn't see it as a complete dismissal of the conventional course we've been on. I'm not recommending that anyone - I'm presenting myself as a type of guinea pig.'

In a pre-taped segment shot in Mexico, Charlie - born Carlos Estévez - boasted: 'I've been off my meds about a week now. I feel great. Am I risking my life? So what? I was born dead. That part of it doesn't phase me at all.'

Both Dr. Oz and Sheen's physician Dr. Robert Huizenga condemned the treatments he was receiving from Dr. Sam Chachoua, who's not licensed to practice in the States.

'I drew some blood from him and I injected myself with it,' Chachoua is heard telling Dr. Oz on a bizarre phone call.

'And I said, "Charlie, if I don't know what I'm doing, then we're both in trouble now aren't we?"'

Sheen was diagnosed more than four years ago, and says the diagnosis was why he started using drugs and alcohol again after more than a decade of sobriety.

He was immediately put on strong antiviral drugs which suppressed the virus after his diagnosis, and told the Today show he was taking four pills a day without fail to fight the virus.

But apparently he stopped for the false hope of a Mexican cure.

Elsewhere in the daytime programme, the Brat Packer revealed he dreamt he was going to come down with AIDS when he was 28 years old.

'I had a sign around my neck with a little gold chain and it said AIDS written in red,' the four-time Emmy nominee described.
