Andy Murray continued his preparations for the Australian Open on Tuesday as he hit with British Davis Cup team-mate Kyle Edmund.

The pair hit together on the Margaret Court Arena before Murray met the hundreds of Melbourne Park ball kids for the first grand slam of the year, which gets under way on Monday.

Murray is fully focused on finally tasting Australian Open victory after failing to triumph in the four finals he has reached in Melbourne over the past six years.

Murray said: 'I would love to try to get to No 1 [in the world rankings] but my main goal is to try and win here.

'I love playing here and I've played some of my best tennis here. I just unfortunately haven't been able to win in the finals, I've just not managed to get over the final hurdle.

'Hopefully this year if I keep working hard and keep giving myself opportunities hopefully one day I'll be able to win.'

Another of Murray's goals for later this year is to become the first man to win the Aegon Championships five times after confirming on Tuesday that he will return to London's Queen's Club in June.

Murray is one of seven four-time champions after winning the title last year - but would become the first man in the tournament's 125-year history to win it five times if he retained the trophy this year.

Murray said: 'If I could win it a fifth time it would be amazing.

'I’ve played some of my best tennis at the Queen’s Club over the years. Maybe it’s because I enjoy the tournament - it’s a great event.

'One of the nice things is that it’s at a club, which you don’t get that much on the tour. I’ve spent a lot of time there, played it 10 or 11 years in a row, and they get really great crowds.

'The courts are fantastic - I’ve got to know a few of the groundsmen quite well and they put a lot of hard work and effort in to making the courts perfect.'
