Her name is a tribute to renowned author Harper Lee, who penned the classic To Kill A Mockingbird.

And it appears as if young Harper Beckham is living up to her moniker as proud mother Victoria took to her Instagram page to reveal how thrilled she was with her daughter’s reading accomplishments.

Posting a picture of her four-year-old’s hand with an ‘Excellent Reading’ sticker, the former Spice Girls gushed: ‘Excellent reading Harper!!X Good day at school!! #proudmummy X’

Just when we thought we knew Victoria Beckham's sense of style better than our own, she goes and surprises us.

The snap, which was uploaded on Wednesday, comes days after she shared a picture of some creative artwork, painted by Harper, which was captioned: ‘Happy Harper! X Baby girl loves school X#proudmummy X vb’

Her husband David previously discussed the meaning behind Harper Seven’s name during an interview in 2011, when he played for LA Galaxy.

Dismissing speculation that their girl was named after Harper's Bazaar magazine, the football ace explained: 'A lot of thought goes into our children's names and Harper was a name that we've loved for a long time for a couple of reasons.

'One reason is Harper's an old English name which we loved and one of the other reasons was Victoria's favourite book is To Kill A Mockingbird and the author was Harper Lee. It's a very strong, passionate book. That's where Harper came from.'

The retired sportsman went on to admit that his former number shirt while he played for Manchester United and England had also played a strong part in choosing Seven as a middle name.

Elsewhere, fashion designer Victoria revealed that her youngest is a huge football fan, taking after her father and her older brothers, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.

'She loves fashion, you know, as little girls do… but she loves sports,' the star explained during an appearance on Good Morning America in September. 'She said to me the other day, "Mummy, I think I want to play football".'

'Dagger through the heart!' Victoria joked. 'I have three boys that want to play football. You know, come on, let one of them want to be into fashion or dance.'

Meanwhile, David has previously admitted little Harper is a girl with two sides, joking that one minute she'll be dressed as a ballerina, and the next she'll be in a football kit.

He told Glamour magazine: 'Harper's wearing Victoria's heels every single day. She walks into the house and puts her ballerina outfit on and a pair of heels. She's very funny because she also wears the boys' football boots.'
