In the market for bling? Make-up free Elle Fanning wears a tracksuit as she shops at a diamond and engagement ring store

She's already played a princess in Maleficent and some even claim she has royal blood.

So it's about time Elle Fanning had the accoutrements of a monarch.

And on Wednesday the 17-year-old actress was spotted heading into a diamond and engagement ring store.

The fresh faced teen went make-up free for the outing as she tied her blonde locks into a high bun for the outing.

Staying comfortable, Elle wore a black Adidas tracksuit with white stripes running down her arms and legs.

Completing her attire was a crop top and white trainers as she clutched an iPhone in her hand.

Back in 2014 researchers claimed Elle and her sister Dakota have royal blood, and are even distant cousins of the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton.

Researchers at Ancestry.com, discovered that the siblings may share blood with British royalty after combing over seven centuries of family trees.

The ancestry site concluded from their investigation that the two sisters are descendants of King Edward III, who ruled England in the 14th century, through their mother, retired professional tennis player Heather Joy (née Arrington).

If Elle and Dakota really are descended from the monarch then they in fact are distant relatives of British royalty - ranking as 22nd great-grandchildren of King Edward III.

The sisters, who were born in Georgia, are also reported to share common ancestors with the Duchess of Cambridge.

If the researchers are correct then King Edward I aka Longshanks - the grandfather of King Edward III - is an ancestral link between Middleton and the Fannings.

And in another family connection, Middleton's mother Carole is a granddaughter of King Edward III, giving Elle and Dakota a strong blood tie to the brunette Royal.

Meanwhile, Elle can next be seen in her film How To Talk to Girls at Parties. In this sci-fi romance film, that's set to be released next month, Elle stars as Zan, an alien touring the galaxy.

She breaks away from her group to pursue true love with Enn, played by Alex Sharp.

Elle's co-stars include Nicole Kidman, Ruth Wilson and Matt Lucas.
