Make-up free Ronda Rousey strolls through California as UFC star continues to enjoy break after insisting: I need more time off

Ronda Rousey's scars from her defeat by Holly Holm appear to have fully healed as the American walked through the streets of California make-up free.

Rousey was stopped by fans for selfies as she casually strolled through Venice in tracksuit bottoms and a hooded jumper.

The former UFC women's bantamweight champion said it 'could be months' until she is able to eat an apple again after being knocked out by Holm at UFC 193 on November 15.

Rousey looked in high spirits on Tuesday but has still ruled out the possibility of returning to the cage anytime soon.

President Dana White said of Rousey's future: 'What that woman has done is above and beyond what anyone has done.

'I mean, it's just unbelievable what she's done in the last three years. Anything we needed, she didn't say no to anything. She even took over responsibilities somebody else was supposed to have.

'So when she tells me she wants more time, you know what? She's got it.'

Rousey, 28, was the first female fighter signed by the UFC and is seen as a pioneer in mixed martial arts by her fellow competitors.

She has also forged a career in film, appearing in The Expendables 3, Fast and Furious 7 and the film spin-off of TV show Entourage.

A rematch with Holm was expected to be a formality but she will now defend her bantamweight title against Miesha Tate on March 5.

And Rousey's burgeoning acting career will push back her return into the second half of the year.

UFC president White told Yahoo: 'The filming of the movie [Roadhouse] got pushed back. She could do both, but the question is, should she do both? She could do both, but why should she?

'The filming is in a time frame where she'd finish before 200, but it would be cutting it too close.

'The night [of her victory] Holly said she'd do the rematch and that Ronda deserved it and everything else. So we were holding it for her if she wanted to do it.'

Rousey's absence from the July 9 event at the new T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas means Conor McGregor is likely to be the star attraction.

The Irishman will bid to win a second title when he faces lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos in March, having knocked out Jose Aldo to win the featherweight belt last month.

Should McGregor return to 145lb in the summer, he would likely face Frankie Edgar who earned his shot at the title by stopping Chad Mendes.

Rousey has been making the most out of her time away from the cage by spending time with boyfriend Travis Browne.

She also recently met Amy Schumer and posed naked for an upcoming Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.
