Revival! Wentworth Miller, 43, and Dominic Purcell, 45 will return as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows in a new series based on Prison Break
Fox announced in August 2015 that the show would return to the network in the near future.
As previously announced, Wentworth Miller, 43, and Dominic Purcell, 45 will return as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows.
It’s been almost seven years since the Golden Globe nominated show concluded its four-year run in May 2009.
Rejoice! A 15-second promo was released Thursday, which is based on the Golden Globe nominated show
The original producing team will return, including series creator Paul T. Scheuring who will serve as showrunning/writer.
Prison Break, which aired from 2005 to 2009, centered on a young man (Miller) determined to prove his convicted brother’s (Purcell) innocence and save him from death row by hatching an elaborate plan to escape from prison.
At last summer's TCA gathering in Beverly Hills, FOX chairman and Dana Walden described the revival as 'a bit of a sequel.'
'It picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show,' she said.
Back from the dead: Despite Wentworth Miller's character seeming to die at the end of the season finale in 2009, he will return in the revival
With the two main brothers coming back - despite Wentworth's character seeming to die at the end of the finale in 2009 - the FOX head last year hinted that 'some of the iconic characters from that show will be back.'
As for the death of Michael, Dana joked that his demise would be 'ignored' without going into specific detail.
'It definitely will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series and for a new audience,' she said.
