They've been close friends for almost ten years.

And with Victoria Beckham's fashion expertise, it's not surprising bride-to-be Eva Longoria has enlisted the help of the London-based designer as she shops for the 'perfect' wedding dress.

The Desperate Housewives actress revealed the former Posh Spice will assist her on her sartorial quest as 'she's the only person who will tell me if something looks hideous'.

She says that her BFF Victoria Beckham is the only one that’ll tell her if she looks bad, but we’re glad that Eva Longoria dips her toes into other fashion designers’ pools.

Eva, 40, told Closer magazine: 'Victoria is helping me pick the perfect dress. She always knows exactly what looks good on me and is one of the only people in the world who will tell me the truth and if something looks hideous.'

The leading Telenovela star added that the mother-of-four is also keen to offer her assistance when it comes to planning the all-important hen do - her last night of freedom before marrying Jose Antonio Baston this summer.

'It will be far less wild than my first one - just a relaxed weekend away with the girls to a spa or something very low-key,' she added.

Although Eva is excited to tie the knot - and is hoping it's a case of third time lucky - her idea of a perfect day would involve the couple eloping to a remote island.

'Our friends and family wouldn't allow it - especially Victoria,' she admitted.

Eva and Victoria cemented their friendship in 2007 when the Beckham family moved to Hollywood following David's offer of a contract with football team LA Galaxy.

Talking to MailOnline in July, Eva said of her relationship with Victoria: 'We're best friends and have shared lots of life lessons together.'

Most recently, she filed for divorce from San Antonio Spurs player Tony Parker, citing 'irreconcilable differences', in November 2010.

Prior to that, she was married to actor Tyler Christopher from 2002 to 2004.
